OSA Awareness and Education Roadshow in Mount Isa
Our OSA Awareness and Education Roadshow in Mount Isa just wrapped, and the results speak for themselves.
12 community members joined us on Day 1, and 21 on Day 2. Here's what we found:
- Before the roadshow, 63% of participants knew "a little" or "nothing at all" about sleep apnoea. Afterwards, 76% rated their knowledge as "a fair amount" or "a lot."
- 94% said the content was relevant to their community's needs.
- 71% will now get checked or recommend testing to someone they know
- 94% would recommend the roadshow to others
And the words from our community say it best:
"Thank you for your ongoing commitment and advocacy for our mob with this critically important research. Love your work!"
"This was explained on our level that we can understand about it."
The only feedback we got on improvements: “Reach more people.”
OSA is underdiagnosed and undertreated, and it's closely linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental health. When health education is delivered with communities, not at them, people engage and act.
Thank you to the incredible team behind this work.
