Visiting Academic Dr Suzie Bertisch
The Let’s Yarn About Sleep team was thrilled to host Dr Suzie Bertisch at UniSC Moreton Bay this week. Dr Bertisch—Associate Physician and Clinical Director of Behavioural Sleep Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School—joined us for three days of rich collaboration.
She delivered an online presentation, “Leveraging implementation science to improve sleep disorder care in clinics and communities,” and spent the remainder of her visit sharing invaluable insights on stakeholder engagement, patient‑centred research, and adaptable treatment models for diverse communities, including adults with varying health literacy, women, and economically under‑resourced groups.
Dr Danielle Wilson from the LYAS team also led discussions on obstructive sleep apnoea and care models in First Nations communities.
We’re incredibly grateful for this inspiring exchange, and look forward to continued collaborations with Dr Bertisch!
